Abstaining from all evil, Doing what is good,Cleansing one's mind, This is the teaching of all the Buddhas.
Patience is the highest practice, Nibbāna is supreme, say the Buddhas, A mendicant does not harm others, A recluse oppresses no one.
Not insulting, not harming, Restrained according to the moral code, Moderating in food, Dwelling in solitude, Engaging in higher mental development.
All mental phenomena have mind as their forerunner; they have mind as their chief; they are mind-made. If one speaks or acts with a pure mind, happiness (sukha) follows him like a shadow that never leaves him.
Hatred is, indeed, never appeased by hatred in this world. It is appeased only by loving-kindness. This is an ancient law.
Just as a mother would protect her only child with her life even so let one cultivate a boundless love towards all beings.
